Ok, Boomer

I really think it is the tiny things in life that get us through the worst of times. Like an over-the-pants hand job in 9th grade after being bullied for being a virgin, or ripping a Marlboro red as you commute home in your 2012 Kia Sorento after a hard day's work. Today I was lucky enough to have one of these little moments when I really needed it. The world works in mysterious ways and I will always wonder what motivated this 70-year-old man to walk from his front porch and approach me as I walked home from a local coffee shop. He shared with me how he is writing a novel about a Native American who is seeking the remains of his brother lost in Vietnam so that he can pass to the afterlife. He told me he regretted spending his life as an attorney and wished he could have pursued creative writing his whole life. Young Millennial? Old Zoomer? idk but I'm broke either way.

 Hey! My therapist and I have been talking about journaling for weeks and every time I take a stab it quickly unravels into an unhinged brain dump that tbh is making me feel more unstable with each attempt. That's why I am going to funnel all my anxiety, dread, and vengeful energy into this blog about personal finance that no one will read. It's putting words on paper, albeit digital paper so next time we meet I won't have to lie to her about completing my weekly self-imposed journal homework.  Why personal finance? IDK, it's my flavor of neurodivergence. I have worked as a stockbroker for two of the largest financial institutions in the country.
